Phase 1 – 2013
To meet the demand of a growing population with new housing estates spring up MRC was appointed following a mini tender competition between the 5 appointed contractors on the Hampshire Framework Agreement to design, supply, deliver and install a new purpose designed 4 classroom primary school on to a brown field site ready for the client to install the Kitchen, IT, Furniture, Fittings and Equipment. Following approval the building works were put into production with all units being built ready for delivery in June 2013 and the new 29 bay modular School building was commissioned and handed over ready for the start of the September 2013.
Comments in an email from Property Manager at Hampshire CC
‘ I have never been associated with a project that came so close to not working before, the situation was not of our (as in my team & MRC) making, but has caused us a lot of hassle.
The thanks should be shared with MRC in that, without your help, flexibility and assistance in working around the various problems thrown at us on this site, we would not have achieved the occupation date for the school or the quality in the end product. The communication has been excellent.’
Phase 2 – 2015 Extension on the rear of the main building providing an additional three classrooms, decked area and canopy
In January 2015 we were advised by Hampshire CC that the extension to the school at Cornerstones was being considered, requesting MRC to provide a quotation for the works.
We provide a quotation and towards the end of April 2015 were advised that MRC was going to be appointed to carry out the works. Works commenced in September 2015 and once completed the Building was handed over to the client on 13th October 2015
Comments received from Client in an email:
Dear all.
Ref- Cornestones Phase two.
Id just like to pass on a message of thanks to everyone involved in the cornerstones project phase two…. It’s not just about what happens on site in the delivery of the project but what happens in the background at MRC , we handed over the building yesterday to the School ahead of time with some minor works to complete at half term. We met with the Headteacher Tim Clarke who was really very complimentary about MRC and all the contractors who worked on the project.
Well done.
Thanks again.
